Kelo-cote is the best most effective low cost silicone gel for scar treatment and scar prevention.
Abdominoplasty, dermabrasion and skin grafts
Thank you for your patience with the prolonged clinical trial of Kelo-cote®. I found that the gel works extremely well on postoperative wound care both for allowing scars to settle and as a topical dressing early on with fresh incisions*. We have seen good improvement for thickened scars softening over a period of time and becoming flat. We have used it as a trial on all of our abdominoplasty patients and found excellent results with prolonged use of the topical gel over the first six months postoperatively while the color phase is settling out of these incisions. The product worked extremely well on our trips to third world countries working in cleft lip and palate patients. It has allowed us to close the lip incisions with absorbable sutures and use the topical gel for a dressing over the skin margins on these lips. This makes the care of these patients quite a bit easier and has given excellent results over the course of the last several years.
We have used it on topical burns, dermabrasion and even secondarily on skin graft donor sites with excellent results. As it is proven to be an excellent product and we have had very minimal reaction to it in a spectrum of patients over the past two years. I would expect their sensitivity to the product at most has been 0.5%.
Thank you once again for bringing this product to market. It has been an excellent addendum to our wound care regimen.
Sincerely,
David H. Slepyan, MD, FACS

Scar lightening and softening
I have been using Kelo-cote® for a couple of years now, and have been very pleased with the way it lightens and softens surgical and traumatic scars. My patients find it very easy to use. I am excited about trying it out on my post laser and post peel patients!
Keep up the good work!
Sincerely,

Dear David,
Just to give you an update on how Anna is getting on with the Kelo-cote®. Anna is tolerating it much better than she ever did the silicon sheets and it stays in areas which were impossible to treat with the sheets. We are sure we can see a difference already. The redness is definitely fading and on some areas, particularly on her arms where it has almost disappeared on some areas.
On our last hospital visit unfortunately the consultant, Miss Reid, was on holiday though we did take the Kelo-cote® with us and showed it to the theatre sister who was refitting Anna for pressure garments and she seemed very impressed, especially when I pointed out that normal makeup can be applied on top of this product. She said she would speak to Miss Reid on her return from holiday about arranging a meeting with yourself. I don't know if you have been contacted by the hospital yet? We are back at hospital on 24 July and will again take along the Kelo-cote®.
Anna is now half way through the second tube. It does last very well, though as you probably saw from the photographs, Anna has several badly scarred areas. You mentioned in your letter accompanying the product that if we needed more, to let you know, if this would be possible it would be greatly appreciated.
My wife was wondering what is the best way to clean the old Kelo-cote® off prior to reapplying the new. We are currently using a very mild soap with warm water though are not always sure we are getting it all off.*
I thank you again for your help with my daughter and hope Kelo-cote® is soon available to help the thousands it could in this country.
Yours faithfully,
Peter Haygarth
* It is actually not neccessary to clean Kelo-cote® off, as it will flake off the skin together with dead skin layers.
Acne scars
Hi, my name is Johnny T. I would like to sincerely thank you for creating such a great product. One year ago, I had very severe acne on my face. After I used some acne medications, it subsided. But unfortunately, I was left with scars and ugly pigmentation on the areas that the acne was. One day, my aunt introduced me to Kelo-cote®, and said it would help. I didn't believe her in the beginning, but I decided to give it a try anyway. After just two weeks, the discolorations were fading away. Now it's barely noticeable. I don't know how to thank you for creating such a great and effective product. Thanks!
Your loyal customer and friend,
Johnny T.
Mastectomy scars
I had a mastectomy two years ago and have gone through the long process of reconstruction. This involved a lot of scarring which I had assumed I would have to live with. A friend of mine who uses your product urged me to try it. In fact, she was so enthusiastic that she actually purchased a tube for me. I literally could not believe the difference! Miracle is the accurate word. I cannot endorse your product highly enough and believe that anyone who has a scar from anything, even something as extreme as a mastectomy, will be genuinely thrilled at how much better their skin looks. And not just there! I have also found it has a remarkable ability to eliminate old scars and even lines! If you have a friend who needs it, well, I cannot think of a more lasting healing gift for yourself and anyone else! I am now no longer dreading how my reconstructed breast will look since every day it seems to be better! Thank you so much!
Sincerely,
Sian Avis
Keloid scars
This email is actually to thank you and let you know how great your product is. I would recommend it to anyone it really works. A few years ago I had a naval piercing done and had a lot of problems with it. I developed what my doctor told me was a keloid. She actually said even if I took the piercing out I would need to have the keloid surgically removed. I ended up removing the piercing and had a small scar but it mostly went away. A few months ago I decided to try to get the piercing again ... again I developed a keloid much worse than the first one. I looked on the internet for some kind of keloid medicine and came across Kelo-cote®. I used the product for 2-3 weeks and my keloid completely disappeared and you cant tell there was any type of scar.
Thank you!

Carpal tunnel surgery
This short note is an update on the work performed at the University of Miami and more recently in Northern California regarding Kelo-cote®.
1. The preliminary results from the Chile study indicate that Kelo-cote® softens, reduces redness and reduces the size of cleft lip scars. The final results will be available in the next few weeks. See under data sheet for data numbers, graphs and see a photo of what I think is a superior scar at 8 months post-op following Kelo-cote® therapy.
2. My anecdotal clinical experience with the product began as a plastic surgery resident when I applied the compound to the upper lip of a 14 yr. old African American boy following laceration sustained from a car accident. The upper lip healed without scar and the lower lip formed a hypertrophic scar. More recently I have been impressed with the rapid scar softening which occurs following application after carpal tunnel release. One nurse at the hospital complained that following endoscopic carpal tunnel release she had persistent tenderness of a small hypertrophic scar in her palm. Within two weeks of Kelo-cote® therapy the scar softened and the redness was gone. We are in the process of conducting a clinical study looking at scars following carpal tunnel release in a double blind placebo controlled fashion. We will also perform a study looking at Kelo-cote® versus no therapy following breast reduction.
The results are very encouraging and as is often the case in medicine more work is necessary for statistical purposes.
Sincerely,
Rex M., M.D.

Skin cancer
Hi there! I wanted to write and say thanks - a big thanks - a heartfelt thanks!
I have had a rare form of skin cancer (dermatofibroma sarcoma protruberans) on the right side of my face and have had MANY surgeries to get rid of it and subsequent reconstructive surgeries. I was left with a scar that went from my ear, across my cheek and under my eye to my nose, and then down to my chin. My last surgery was 4 years ago, and hopefully that will be the end! I have learned some make-up tricks to cover it somewhat, but it was still visible - especially to me.
I work for an orthopedic surgeon, and our Medical Assistant heard about Kelo-cote® on a local news program and ordered some samples to give to our patients. I was skeptical, but grabbed a few when they arrived and started using them religiously 2 times a day. A few weeks later people started asking me if I was doing something different with makeup because I looked different - that my scar wasn’t as noticeable as it had been. I had been thinking the same thing too ...
The most amazing thing happened with one of our black female patients though. She had been attacked with a razor blade when she was a teenager and it left 2 large scars that had formed keloids on her face. I asked her about it one day, and then told her I had something for her. I got a few samples of the Kelo-cote® and told her I use it on the scar on my face, and she said “What scar?” I told her that I’d been using it for about a month and she burst into tears. Like me, she’d avoided mirrors and cameras and the scars had affected her self-esteem. She was in the office today and has been using it, and her scars are slowly disappearing like mine - even though they are years old, it is definitely helping.
I sent one of your brochures to the Doctor who has done all my surgeries and told him how it was working for me. He sees so many skin cancers and hopefully his nurse will call for some samples to try on his patients too.
My order will follow this e-mail, but I just wanted to THANK YOU! You have a VERY grateful customer!
Sincerely,
Gayle A.
Cleft lip study
Dear Mr. Berlat,
Enclosed are slides from the preliminary data analysis of a study comparing Kelo-cote® to placebo and topical tropocollagen in terms of wound healing. The preliminary data suggest that Kelo-cote® may significantly reduce wound erythema. I have also enclosed a high resolution scanned image of a child before and 11 months after cleft lip repair, which was treated with Kelo-cote®.
You will see that the amount of erythema is minimal, unlike other cases where erythema is often persistent for 2 years. The final analysis is in progress. I have discussed the data with Geff Raines of the University of Miami: Dept Surgery - Research Division and he assures me the final data will be reviewed in the near future.
I have offered this product to a variety of patients over the last 2 years in clinical practice. Almost uniformly they have reported to me that they have seen a dramatic reduction in scar erythema and scar softening within 7 days of application. I find it particularly helpful with the erythema at the incision line of a circum-areolar breast augmentation, tender carpal tunnel release scars and with traumatic perioral and facial scars which are recent.

Dog bite
I am writing in regards to your product, Kelo-cote®.
Due to your product, Kelo-cote®, my young daughter, Shirlee, will never have to be self conscious of severe scarring on her face.
Last October she was attacked and bitten on her arm, mouth, nose and chin area by a neighbors dog. Numerous stitches were required to close the wounds.
The plastic surgeon did a wonderful job of closing the wounds, however the red raised scars on her face were unsightly and very stressful to her.
Your product was recommended and we began to apply Kelo-cote® to the ugly scars. Within weeks the redness faded and the scars began to recede. The scars have smoothed out and are almost unnoticeable. Thanks to your product she will not have to worry about her appearance.
Thank you for marketing Kelo-cote® skin formula.
Sincerely
Shirle W.

Facelift
Dear Al,
Last February, at the age of 52, I had a complete face lift including upper and lower blepheroplasty. The results were great with the exception of some hypertrophic scarring under my right eye. The plastic surgeon tried two cortisone injections which did nothing to improve the puffy scarring. And, over the past months, it was getting worse rather than better.
After using Kelo-cote® for only two weeks, the scarred area has diminished approximately 30-40 percent and is clearly healing. I am thrilled and have just ordered more Kelo-cote®. My fiance and I have both used your fabulous product on other old scars and newer injuries with great success.
Thank you for creating such an effective, beneficial healing tool.

To whom it may concern:
I treated a patient on 1/19/00. The patient presented with a big keloid scar formation along the dorsum of the PIP joint of the fight index finger following injury in a National Hockey League game. There was some painful limited flexion of the right index finger. The patient was given Kelo-cote® (topical silicone scar gel) to apply to the MP joint of the right index finger.
The patient returned on 2/17/00 for a follow-up visit. The keloid formation examined on the previous visit, located on the dotsurn of the right index finger, decreased by 50% With the use of Kelo-cote®, since the initial visit of 1/19/00. The patient also stated that he is now able to flex the joint of the right index finger without noticeable discomfort. Clinically, the patient is making excellent progress using Kelo-cote® to treat the keloid on his right index finger. Patient is recommended to continue to apply Kelo-cote® to the keloid on his right index finger as indicated.

Thanks for supplying the samples of your product. I have tried the Kelo-cote® on all kinds of healing skin wounds now and am very favorably impressed that it makes quite a difference in the size of the skin scar, and the patients all comment on how much they like what it has done for them. A great product and Dwayne's Pharmacy is now carrying it for me. Thanks again for making something that works so well available.
